Prunus nipponica ‘brilliant’ putting on a full show for us at Bumbles this weekend!
Prunus Nipponica, also known as the Japanese Alpine Cherry, is a shrub originating from Japan. It is one of the hardiest cherry trees, which suits a variety of soils – sandy, loamy and clay, but avoid wet or shallow, chalky situations. The Prunus nipponica ‘brilliant’ variety is a compact, bushy tree with white/pink flowers in April which are very popular with bees! This dwarf ornamental tree is very popular in small gardens as it grows to around 2.5 metres.
