Wondering which flowers to sow in April?
Seed sowing is at its height this month, as most of the summer bedding plants can now be sown.
Indoors, flowers to sow in April include half-hardy annuals such as ageratum, impatiens (busy lizzie), cosmea, gazania, petunia, lobelia and marigold. These can be sown in a heated greenhouse or indoors.
Outdoors, provided soil conditions are not too cold and wet, you can sow hardy annuals in April. This includes popular plants such as: calendula, clarkia, larkspur and nigella. You want to sow these in the area they will flower. Sweet pea plants are happy to be situated in sunny borders, just remember to tie stems onto supports which will encourage quicker climbing and flowering. You want to sow in the area they will flower.
